Problem they are trying to solve: Protecting nesting loggerhead sea turtles on one of the world's largest rookeries during peak nesting season. Join mixed teams of international volunteers and Cape Verdean rangers on six-hour night patrols and morning census across five protected beaches on Boa Vista island, July through September.

Volunteer work - what will you do:
- Conduct 6-hour night patrols to locate nesting females, record activity, and collect biometric data
- Tag nesting turtles, measure carapaces, take DNA samples, and log nest GPS coordinates
- Relocate threatened nests to the Lacacao hatchery when needed
- Carry out morning censuses to document tracks and assess nesting success
- Monitor the hatchery and assist with hatchling releases from late August onward
- Support beach cleanups, camp maintenance, cooking, and occasional visitor education
